Tips for Visiting Disney World with a Toddler

Tips for Visiting Disney World with a Toddler
Visiting Disney World, or any big theme park, with a toddler can be an amazing experience full of wonderful memories. However, it also has the potential to be stressful and exhausting. Planning a trip during the winter season can actually help reduce some problems and staying at one of the Kissimmee vacations rentals like Fantasy World is a great idea no matter what time of year you visit. Here are a few other tips to help make visiting with a toddler a little easier.

Thanks to Florida’s rather temperate winters, visiting Disney during this time of year means you can avoid some of the worst of the intense summer heat, though you should still make sure you use plenty of sunscreen throughout the day. As well as more comfortable temperatures, the lines may not be quite as long with fewer visitors than during the peak summer season.

If you don’t want to travel with a stroller, but know you’ll need one for a long day at the park, you will probably want to avoid the strollers for rent at Disney. They tend to be hard and uncomfortable. You may prefer to take your own or try renting one from Kingdom Strollers, which has a much wider variety of strollers available, including ones with canopies to protect from sun or the occasional rain shower.

If you’re planning on visiting multiple parks, break them up into separate days. Trying to visit multiple parks in one day, particularly the big ones like Disney just isn’t doable. You won’t be able to get to see everything you want and you’ll probably be too tired to enjoy the second park, especially your little ones. Even adults can be overwhelmed by all there is to see and do at Disney.

If you have a small family, you may want to get a photopass so you can all be in the photos. Otherwise, it’s rare to get a picture of the whole family in one shot with some of the favorite Disney characters. Best of all, you get professional quality photos with great backdrops that turn into wonderful souvenirs. While you’re at it, don’t forget to mention to park staff if you’re there for a special birthday or if it’s your toddler’s first visit. They’ll often give out special pins and other paraphernalia to commemorate the special visit.

Perhaps one of the best tips for trips with toddlers is to stay at one of the Kissimmee vacation rentals like Fantasy World. The space they offer, along with the amenities like washers and dryers as well as a full kitchen, means that you don’t have to worry about spills, stains, and an unhealthy diet. The kitchen is a great way to start your toddler off with a healthy breakfast and also a great way to take along some healthy snacks that can be carted around in the stroller, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, crackers, and dried fruits. Not only does it save you money, but you can also avoid some of the longer lines at the parks.

Most importantly, remember that this is a vacation. Have fun, try not to stress too much, let your toddler and yourself enjoy some special treats and just let everyone enjoy themselves and make some memories to last a lifetime.
