While Disney World and Animal Kingdom are planning on reopening on July 11, there will ultimately be some changes. If you’re planning a trip to the theme parks, it’s best to read up on their official statements regarding tickets, reservations, closures, and openings as things are updating regularly. Regardless, the Fantasy World resort in Kissimmee is open and taking every precaution to provide our guests with a safe, entertaining environment. If you’re looking for a great home base to visit any of the parks when they reopen, Fantasy World is ideally located to make the most of the parks and the wealth of other attractions throughout Central Florida.

In order to ensure the appropriate social distancing in the parks, some features, perks, and events will remain closed for the time being. Currently, the parades, fireworks, dining passes, and FastPasses+ are on hold, even after the reopening, though Disney is constantly assessing to try to keep the experience as enjoyable and positive as possible.

There are plenty of attractions and events still taking place. For example, Character Cavalcades will continue along the parade route throughout the day, featuring Mickey & Friends Cavalcade, The Royal Princess Processional, Fantasyland Friends Cavalcade, A Goofy Cavalcade, and Tinker Bell & the Lost Treasure. Main Street Philharmonic will also still be performing.

As for the big rides and attractions, these will still be welcoming guests:

Plenty of shops will still be open, as well, ranging from sweet treats at Main Street Confectionery to important conveniences, such as Baby Care, Strollers & Wheelchairs, and TTC Cart / Wheelchairs. Others include Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Photos, Hundred Acre Goods, Mickey’s Star Traders, Sir Mickey’s, Tomorrowland Light & Power Co., and Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.

Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there will be plenty to enjoy, especially since the Character Cruises are still taking place throughout the day. The cruises have a variety of Disney friends appearing in boats around Discovery River. Among the favorites are Discovery Island Drummers, Donald’s Dino Boat Bash, Mickey & Friends Flotilla, and Discovery River Character Cruise.

You can also enjoy some fun shopping at places like African Heritage Wood Carving, Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Discovery Trading Company, Garden Gate Gifts & Strollers, Mombasa Marketplace, Serka Zong Bazaar, and The Dino Institute Shop, among many others.

While things may be a bit different for the time being at the Disney theme parks — and Epcot and Hollywood Studios will be opening on July 15 — there will still be more than enough to create a truly magical experience.
