Epcot International Festival of the Arts Returns

Fans of Walt Disney World can’t help but be art lovers, thanks to the incredible work Disney has produced over the decades. To celebrate the arts, Epcot is once again hosting the International Festival of the Arts, which runs through February 25. Most of the festival events are included in the regular admission price, so you don’t have to make special plans other than booking a great vacation villa at Fantasy World, one of the ideal Kissimmee Florida resorts for visiting Epcot and all of the theme parks.

The festival is perfect for social media, but there are plenty of ways to get involved, rather than just taking pictures. For example, there’s a paint-by-numbers mural done by guests, featuring a variety of favorite characters and fun pictures. This large mural is located by the World Showcase Plaza.

Even if all of the squares have been filled in by the time of your visit, you can still become part of some truly great works of art. One of the popular features of the festival during its first year were the larger-than-life famous paintings that allow guests to walk in and become a part of the painting. The lines for these “Artful Photo Ops” usually aren’t too long and they make for a memorable experience. Become a part of Munch’s The Scream, Emanual Leutze’s Washington Crossing the Delaware, or Renoir’s lovely Luncheon of the Boating Party among others.

Other elements of the arts include the Disney on Broadway performances that now take place daily at at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. The culinary arts are also on display. While there are fewer food kiosks than at some of the other more food-centric festivals, there are still plenty of options and these tend to focus on the art of food, as well as flavor, with some more intricate and exotic options available.

While most of the events are included in the regular admission, obviously the food is separate. There are also various hands-on workshops and seminars, some of which require an extra cost, that include Disney 3D paper crafting, creating park-map bouquets, making your own flip-books, abstract expressionism, and even topiary arts. Those with a serious art background may be interested in the Paint with an Artist classes held on select Friday and Sunday mornings, though these classes cost $259 per person for those 12 and up.

These are just a few of the elements that make up the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Whether you’re becoming one with great works of art or taking part in Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt, you’re sure to find plenty to inspire your artistic side and create some special memories. Make sure you book your reservations today at Fantasy World, one of the great Kissimmee Florida resorts that offers spacious villas with plenty of amenities, as well as attractions, all within easy reach of the Central Florida theme parks like Epcot.
