EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

This year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs from January 14 to February 21, 2022. Don’t think that you need an art history degree to enjoy this festival, though. There’s plenty for all ages to enjoy and you may find yourself inspired to create some of your own art afterward!

You will get to learn about some of the great paintings and artworks of history as you explore the theme park, but you’ll also see friendly favorites like Figment, EPCOT’s mascot. In fact, Figment is part of this year’s treasure hunt. Start by purchasing a map and stickers at Port of Entry, Creations Shop or World Traveler, and then let the search begin. You’ll find figment hiding in famous works of art at each of the World Showcase pavilions. A Figment-themed picture frame will help give the game away! Each time you find Figment, put the pavilion’s corresponding sticker on your map until you’ve completed them all.  Once finished, return your map to Disney Traders or World Traveler for an artful surprise!

There will be plenty of photo ops with unique art installations representing some of the great art from around the world. Among the installations are:

  • An homage to Frida Kahlo
    Mexico Pavilion
  • Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli
    Italy Pavilion Courtyard
  • Café Terrace at Night and Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh
    Bridge to World Showcase
  • Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci
Between Italy Pavilion and Germany Pavilion
  • The Scream by Edvard Munch
Between Italy Pavilion and Germany Pavilion

Those are just a few of the installations you’ll find around the World Showcase. While you’re there, keep an eye out for some of the many fantastic chalk drawings of Disney characters like Abu and Jiminy Cricket. There’s even the chance for the whole family to create their own chalk artworks each day from 11 am to 4 pm at World Nature near The Land. There’s also the annual larger-than-life mural that allows guests to leave their own mark. It’s also in World Nature and is available each day from 11 am to 5 pm or until the mural is finished.

Of course, with Disney World celebrating its 50th anniversary, you’ll also get to see special exhibits like Drawing on Inspiration: Celebrating 50 Years of Magic. This exhibit shows off depictions of Walt Disney World attractions illustrated by Disney Imagineers from around the world. You’ll find these amazing works of art in World Celebration located near Creations Shop.

Finally, it’s not a Disney festival without some fun food. This year, take part in the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine. As you explore EPCOT, look for the list of colorful and delicious dishes included in your Festival Passport. As you purchase each dish, you will receive a stamp, and once you’ve tried them all, take your filled Festival Passport to the Deco Delights food studio for your reward.

These are some of the highlights of this year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Be sure to book your vacation villa at FantasyWorld, which includes craft opportunities, among a variety of activities, which will give everyone a creative outlet after so much magical inspiration!
