Holiday Events at Disney

The holidays are fast approaching and if you’re treating your family to a trip to the Disney theme parks this season, you’ll be glad to know there are plenty of events still taking place. While some festivities have been scaled back and adjustments made, there’s still plenty to give you a magical holiday experience. Book one of the villas at FantasyWorld, one of the leading Kissimmee Florida resorts, to have plenty of space for your own festivities and get ready to explore the wonder of the holiday events at Disney.

Now through December 30, Disney’s Magic Kingdom will be hosting some traditional events along with some new festivities for this year. Mickey and Minnie and all of their friends are celebrating the yuletide season with decorations, treats and more. Many of their seasonal friends are making special appearances, including gingerbread men, toy soldiers, and elves, all dressed in their festive outfits. You’ll find holiday food and drinks throughout the park, as well as plenty of decorations to get you in the spirit. Plus, a new experience to enjoy is the projection show on Cinderella’s Castle of a kaleidoscope of colors and designs. Classic red, green, and gold also sparkle throughout the castle.  Don’t forget to check the shops on Main Street U.S.A., where you will find plenty of new holiday merchandise options, perfect for last-minute gifts and stocking stuffers. Santa could even leave a personalized “gift card” that allows children to pick out an item of their choice if you’re visiting in the days after Christmas.

At Epcot, starting November 27, the International Festival of the Holidays is back, inviting you and your family to enjoy old favorites and new traditions. The World Showcase is a wonderful place to take a leisurely stroll while indulging in holiday treats from around the world. This year, you can take in the first EPCOT, JOYFUL!, a show that takes you on a journey of holiday music. The Voices of Liberty, with their eight-part harmonies, are sure to warm your spirit at the American Gardens Theatre, as will a mug of hot chocolate you can enjoy while listening.

Other festivities taking place at various locations include new lights, magical snowfalls, and sparkling Christmas trees all throughout Disney Springs. At Universal Studios Florida, it shold come as no surprise that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Diagon Alley™ will feature magical festive décor, lights and a wealth of holiday treats. Don’t miss out on Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s. Among the participants this year are the Minions, characters from Shrek and Madagascar, and of course, Santa Claus!

If you want more Harry Potter magic, head to Universal’s Islands of Adventure, where The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Hogsmeade™ has festive shops and a magical seasonal projection at The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts™ Castle show. Finally, anyone who enjoys Dr. Seuss’ holiday classic won’t want to miss the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular. This live retelling of The Grinch is sure to entertain young and old.

These are just some of the festivities taking place this holiday season at the many theme parks in Central Florida. SeaWorld, Legoland, and even Celebration Town Center right in Kissimmee are all hosting some sort of holiday events. So be sure to make your reservations at FantasyWorld, one of the best Kissimmee Florida resorts for celebrating the holidays.
