See What’s Coming to Disney World

Since Disney World first opened in October 1971, the park has continued to grow and develop. This ensures that the many generations who visit year after year always have old favorites to enjoy, but also have new attractions to experience. If you’re planning to book one of the vacation villas in Kissimmee Florida to serve as your base for visiting Central Florida’s most well-known attractions, these are some of the newest attractions coming to Disney World in the next few years.

If you’ve got Star Wars enthusiasts among your family or friends — or are one yourself — you’ve probably already heard of the immersive Star Wars-themed lands and resort expected to open sometime in 2019. Known as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, visitors will feel like they’re within some of the film’s worlds, seeing everything from the canteen to the Millennium Falcon and much more.

Tron is another film that has crossed generational divides and found fans with both the original 1982 film as well as the 2010 follow-up. The lights, visuals, and action all make Tron memorable and Disney is bringing it to life with the Tron Lightcycle Power Run ride. Located at the Magic Kingdom, adjacent to Space Mountain, the ride is an exhilarating experience with lights glowing inside and outside and a breath-taking launch system unlike any roller coaster car.

Epcot certainly isn’t being left out, with plenty of new additions in the coming years. As well as a Ratatouille-themed ride, one of the big attractions will be the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride. Not surprisingly, this ride will be rooted in an Epcot story found in the Future World side of the park. It will be taking the place of Ellen’s Energy Adventure, which is closing this month. Ellen’s Energy Adventure, although popular, is sadly starting to feel its technical age, as elements of the story are becoming outdated.

These are just a few of the major additions coming to Disney in the next few years. Some will be ready by 2018, while others should be ready for the park’s big 50th anniversary in 2021. No matter when you go, you’ll always have a magical time. If you’re thinking about booking your own Disney trip, consider reserving one of the vacation villas in Kissimmee Florida at Fantasy World. Ideally located, and with a wealth of space and amenities, including its own water park, it’s the perfect place to start your Disney adventures.
