Staying Organized While on Vacation
When you’re getting ready to head to Florida for a stay at a Kissimmee vacation villa, you’re probably thinking about relaxing, enjoying the attractions and getting away from your day-to-day routine. But how do you remember to take everything you need with you – and bring it home?
Here are some tips:
- Create a checklist. Before you start packing at home, make a list of everything you need to take. When you list a particular outfit, remember to include all the appropriate accessories. As you make your list, consider whether or not you really need what you’re thinking of taking. If it’s not going to enhance your trip to a Kissimmee vacation villa, don’t bring it. Take a fresh copy of your checklist with you so you can be sure you’ve packed everything you brought when your holiday is over.
- Designate a place for everything. Don’t just toss things into your bags and be happy when you can close them. Suitcases, backpacks, tote bags, etc. usually have plenty of pockets and compartments. Decide what’s going to go where and stick to your plan. If, for example, your camera always goes in a certain pocket of your tote bag, you can quickly check to be sure you have it with you. Consider grouping similar items into a single cosmetic or zipper bag. For example, keep your personal grooming items together, your outdoor gear (sunscreen, insect repellent, etc.) together, and so on.
- Allow some extra space. Chances are good you’ll end up acquiring some souvenirs, so be sure you have space in your luggage to get those items safely home. Either don’t completely fill your suitcases or bring an extra bag with you for this purpose.
